The end of the Second Anglo-Boer War also put an end to the commando system that had been the core of military Foot Creams strength in South Africa.With the formation of the Union in 1910 it was realized that South Africa will have to provide its own defence.It was to be no easy task; seeing that the English and Afrikaans-speaking sections of the population had just concluded a bitter war which had Baobab left deep scars.
